Roosevelt High School

Student & Family Liaison

Melissa Mendiola

I have been blessed to serve as the Family Specialist at Roosevelt High School since 2018.  I provide in -person and virtual sessions for parents on a vast variety of topics.  Course offerings will fall into the following four domain areas:  Parenting, Life Skills, General Knowledge, Academic Skills, and Health. Safety and Nutrition.  Parents are encouraged to participate in leadership and Community Service activities on and off campus.  Once the required hours are completed, parents will have the opportunity to attend a closing ceremony along with other NEISD parents from the Parent Engagement Leadership Academy.

I am happy to serve as a PTA Board Member on the Diversity & Inclusion Committee and am always looking for volunteers and new parent PTA members.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Minor in Spanish at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.  While there, I found my passion for children and family services and I have served Bexar County in the Child Welfare field for 27 years.

I have a passion for empowering others with education and resources.  I invite you to view the monthly Family Engagement calender and hope that you are able to find a topic that interests you.
